For example there: http://www.cdr.pl/p6320,mikrotik-rb760i ... e-out.htmlIs this a future device? i can't find anywhere to buy it and its not on the mikrotik page, i NEED that sfp port i have a HEX right now and that is my only complain.
You could use a tray and put a few of those little rascals side by side. How about RM(rackmount) version of Hex?
Better a frame in which to put up to 3 pieces. How about RM(rackmount) version of Hex?
we built a rack-mount kit that accommodates 2 of them and has lights-out to make the link/activity indicators visible even if the devices are tightly stacked on top of each other. You could use a tray and put a few of those little rascals side by side. How about RM(rackmount) version of Hex?
you can use WOOBM for temporary console access, or just any random USB to serial adaptor (using PL2303 or FT232) and routeros will start system console on the new serial port. There perhaps any chance we can get USB console ports on these cheaper devices in the future ?
I'd prefer a "real" console but space on the actual board must be a real isssue.
Thanks dude , really didn't know about the USB Serial Adaptor/Console thing. Can it also be used to debug or change router bootup or does it only function after ROS has booted up ?you can use WOOBM for temporary console access, or just any random USB to serial adaptor (using PL2303 or FT232) and routeros will start system console on the new serial port. There perhaps any chance we can get USB console ports on these cheaper devices in the future ?

as far as i know it only works if the router has booted up. routeros detects it as serial interface. routerboot is sadly not that smart. Thanks dude , really didn't know about the USB Serial Adaptor/Console thing. Can it also be used to debug or change router bootup or does it only function after ROS has booted up ?
https://mikrotik.com/product/hex_sEDIT any word on price compared to the current hex ?

perhabs i can buy adapter from you or you can tell me how to build one by myself?
have you tried netinstall with a switch between your pc and device??Hello, yesterday was delivered new RB760iGS to me. It looks very nice, I like the grey color of this box.
Build quality si good, typical for Mikrotik`s plastic boxes. Reset and Mode buttons are good, you can push them simply by finger, no more sharp pencil needed.
But.... in the box was ROS 6.41.x installed. So I downloaded current 6.42.4 (MMIPS) version, uploaded the .npk file to the root of filesystem, reboot the box and from that, the device is bricked
I tried pushing reset for 5, 10, 15 secs, I tried Winbox, Netinstall - nothing helps Next step will be trying all the steps again on another Windows computer (with Win7 instead of Win10) and then if it will not help, sending back to distributor.
So be careful with upgrade to 6.42.4...
Is that processor true or false!?
Nice
