More accurate align of dish . Slightest movement and signal on 1 km go 65 and then in few seconds as bran forming kicks in signal is 100. I like to align it to 100 without beam forming , once that will be done then I can enable it again . Also on other note installed release candidate yesterday and she never woke up :D have to netinstall to stable version

Beamforming works great, accurate alignment not really needed at all.

beamforming antenna selection and signal display was also no to responsive for us.
i've heard, we have to make some traffic thru link (few hundred megs via btest for example) for much faster response...

Yeah,
i confirm, we make alignement with no traffic, max signal ~40-60 with btest on link signal goes up to 70~~~80

1.95 km link

Beamforming works great, accurate alignment not really needed at all.
Our experience with aligning the LHG have been anything but easy. We have a mere 300m link that seems to jump around signal wise and predictably drops in the rain. At first we thought it was the mounting bracket moving when we tried to lock down but now think something else is the culprit.

No drops in rain? Our link works great until it rains then its up/down constantly.

Does beamforming work in both directions (TX/RX) - or is it TX only? I can see many different and changing tx-sector values, but rx-sector seems to be always 96. Or is it just not reported properly?

That's very encouraging. If you have any pro-tips you can share here we'd love to hear them! Thanks for the reply.

So what's the chance of some decent documentation on this Mikrotik? We're all wasting a lot of time searching the wiki, forums and google :(
Any know exactly do to disable beamforming?

https://wiki.mikrotik.com/wiki/Manual:I ... properties

tx-sector is an 8x8 grid of values 0-63 going right-to-left (left-to-right on the LHG), bottom-to-top.
Examples:
On a wAP 60G, tx-sector 0 represents “right 26.6 degrees, down 26.6 degrees.” 62 is “left 19 degrees, up 26.6 degrees”
On a LHG, 15 is “right 1.4 degrees, down 1 degrees.” 58 is “left 0.6 degrees, up 1.4 degrees”
There are four “center” sectors; the four squares in the middle of this grid: 27, 28, 35, 36.

Where did you find the info about the sectors?

Trial-and-error; observing the monitor output while moving antennas around.

We have problems with link droping on rain...tested even on beta28, used even align command, but no luck...not stabile at all...signals great (-52/-55 on 1150m link distance).

How much rain? For my experience 40mm/h of rain is enough to kill a 1000m link

Hi , I have two 800 m links and both was setup without beam forming disabled . They working perfect even in heavy rain or fog for that distance . We based in Ireland and last two weeks was mental rain and fog and didnt have one disconnection yet . True is from 700mb it dropped down to 500mb but still solid as rock with low latencies. Kento set them up properly with beam forming enabled is patience . Once they connect together move each side millimetre by millimetre . Ideally is if you run bandwidth test at the same time and keep eye on signal and speed at the same time . I always was setting up A first then go back to B tune it and then back to A tune it and back to B to fine tune . Since that setup it works fine . I remember first link I put up they didn’t want to connect at all :D obiviously I was used to setup only 5ghz links lol . So patience is all you need . By my opinion don’t disable beam forming . Sometimes as less I change in settings is better .

Can you share some screen shots of these links with the wireless interface status?

-70 are not so good signal at 800m distance ?? I'm realy amazed that with this low singnal link are UP on heavy rain. We have links with -55 signal at same distance and on light rain are droping !?
