Error to upgrade software - any way

Mon Jul 23, 2018 5:14 pm

I have an RB2011UiAS-RM that gives me problems to upgrade.
If I upload the packages by ftp or drag & drop in WinBox, it automatically removes them from uploading.
The upgrade by system / package does the same. It does not delete the configuration backup files.
The netinstall does not allow upgrade either. The process runs normally, but when restarting it continues in the old version 6.32.1
It is in the factory version with which it was purchased. v6.32.1
It works perfectly, only it does not allow updates.

have you tried it by providing mikroitk access to internet on any port (do the necessary configuration) and then upgrade.it will automatically fetch desired files and updated.

@fercorvalan: This seems to be some new attack - downloaded NPK is instantly deleted. You are not alone: viewtopic.php?f=2&t=136683 . I suggest to continue the discussion there and lock this topic as duplicate.

Anyway, your statement that Netinstall does not work as well is scary. Have you ever do netinstall succesfully before (to make sure that you are not doing any possible mistake)? Let us know in that topic I linked, please.

Netinstall not working is not possible, because pushing the reset button before applying power will cause backup bootloader to be used. No software could touch it or modify it.

1. turn off the device
2. plug ether1 into your PC with direct cable
3. turn off all windows firewall/antivirus that could stop network activity, run Netinstall "as administrator"
4. hold the reset button
5. plug the power, while holding the button
6. release button when device appears in Netinstall

If this fails, try other PC, because it can't fail. Built in bootloader is safe against any software.

In addition to Normis' instructions: another reason for Netinstall to fail is the delay for bringing ethernet interface up&running by windows (even if IP address is set static). In that case it helps to have an ethernet switch between RB and PC. Make sure nothing else is connected to that switch tough.
