also make sure to try latest RouterOS versions, either v2.9.41 or v3 beta 6

We have also a problem here with an Intel board (D945GTP).

System only boots with 3.0b6, otherwise the onboard ide controller is not recognized (seems to be so).

We plugged in an RB44, but only one port appears in "interfaces"
We plugged in a second RB44, same effect.
We plugged the board in to another router, all4 ports visible

We plugged in a DL-580 (D-Link 4 Port), 2 Ports are visible.
But in System/Ressources/PCI there are 4 devices listed.
We disabled all "unused" devices in the bios -> no effect.
We updated the bios to the latest version -> no effect

Any idea?

Now tested without risercard (it´s a 1U Router) -> same effect

Tested it in an old MSI board with via chipset: RUNNING!!!

Seems to be a problem with the INTEL chipset.
Tomorrow I´ll buy a new board with VIA chipset

Intel removed the PATA controller from the 945/946 chipset series. The PATA port on the motherboard is put there by the motherboard vendor, utilizing an off-chipset onboard IDE controller.

The problem you are having is probably that the chip on your motherboard isn't recognized by the generic IDE driver.
