I'm trying to configure my hAP lite to be a wireless AP on my network. I did a factory reset and could occasionally connect to to it via the WLAN MAC using WinBox. It would disconnect and then WinBox wouldn't be able to reconnect for multiple attempts. Then, finally it would connect but then disconnect after 4 or 5 minutes. I managed to set a static IP for ether1 and could connect via that. But, it also disconnects after 4 or 5 minutes.

During the brief periods of connection I attempted to upload the latest firmware but can't quite get the whole package to upload before it disconnects.

Can anybody give me a hint?

Have you tried to access your hAP via WebFig or the CLI (Command Line Interface via SSH) using a direct ethernet connection?

Yes, I get the same behavior with WebFig and accessing via a ethernet connection.

I also should've asked, have you tried using a different PC?

If yes, then the next step might be to try reinstalling RouterOS using Netinstall...

Thanks. Turns out that it's the power supply that's defective or under powered. It's rated at 500 mA.

Aha! Glad you found the culprit and thanks for coming back and telling us what it was.

Funny thing, I had a similar problem with my hAP ac lite when I first started using it. I bought it for use in our RV and had wired it to the RV's 12v DC system so it could be used when camping off the grid. Occasionally it'd reboot for no apparent reason. But that behavior stopped when I used the factory provided AC to 24v power supply, so I suspected low voltage when connected to the RV's 12v system. I then installed an 8-18v DC to 12v DC converter (voltage stabilizer) and the problem has never reoccured.
