Hi
We are using RB2011 routers for some customers who have SIP trunks, the SIP trunks are delivered using a separate interface from normal internet WAN interface, lets call it VOIPWAN. For the PBX to establish and maintain a registration connection I find I need to setup masquerade NAT rule ike default WAN ports have for the VOIPWAN. This allows the registration bit to appear to be coming from the VOIPWAN interface. The problem I have is that if I leave the Masquerade NAT rule on then I only have one way speech path on inbound calls, outbound is fine, if I disable it then I have two way speech path and all is good. The registration connection will renew and keep as an active connection until someone reboots the router, or the VOIPWAN or LAN connection to the PBX is disconnected, then I have to re enable the masquerade NAT rule, establish the registration bit and then disable the rule.
I have tried all varieties of port forwarding to get around this but so far nothing has worked, I do find that some firmware versions seem to work fine and others are nothing but problems.
Has anyone else had much experience with SIP like this?
Any help beyond telling me to get a different type of SIP or PBX would be great, I have no influence on those issues only on router choices and configuration.
Thanks
