CAPsMAN - different IP POOLs for 2 WLANs

Fri Mar 01, 2019 8:21 am

Hello,

I'm running hEX router as my Gataway with wAP ac as AP for wireless network. wAP is managed by CAPsMAN on hEx.
On wAP there are running 2 wireless networks with the same SSID and security - one 2.4GHz and second 5GHz.

I'm just wondering if it is possible to distinguish those wireless networks on hEX and assign them different IP POOLs by DHCP server on hEX. For example for 2.4GHz network IPs 192.168.xxx.100-192.168.xxx.150 and for 5GHz 192.168.xxx.151-192.168.xxx.200.

use different datapaths with different bridges with different dhcp-servers with different ip-pools assigned.

For only one AP, I personally wouldnt touch capsman with a 10 foot pole.

Because there is no advantage other than a more complicated router setup and load on the router for only one device.
Understanding how the AP should be configured is a first step anyway.
I have two capacs and i would much rather have them separately configured as I do now.
