Hello Mikrotik community,

I am looking to deploy an outdoor AP for a hotspot, I was wondering what the maximum realistic range an outdoor AP can deliver for mobile phones, as far as I know, indoor APs can only deliver about 10-20 meters reliable before disconnections are experienced.
Any help would be appreciated.

For example i recently installed one https://mikrotik.com/product/RBSXTG-5HPacD-SAr2

And i was not only able to connect, but got full internet speed 50mbit on speed test on my HTC u11 phone while being at exactly 890m(messured by google maps) from AP, i did face phone directly toward AP and there are no obstacles.

OFC it was just example, it will depend on many things, client devices, obstacles, interference from other APs etc etc..

But just wanted to give you example that this devices have crazy good range as far they are considered.
