OSPF hello problem.

Thu Apr 26, 2007 1:22 pm

I can't see any OSPF Hello's coming from the Mikrotik. I can runa packet scan and see the Hello's coming from my Cisco Router. When I run a debug on the cisco and a packet scan on the Mikrotik I see the cisco hello's but I never see a reply from the Mikrotik. I have the firewall setup to allow OSPF traffic and I can see it incrementing when the cisco sends the hello. I'm not blocking outbound traffic. I swear all the OSPF timers are the same as well.

I must be missing something simple. I even tried to clear the OSPF process on the cisco with no luck. The only thing I have not tried at this point is to restart the Mikrotik. Maybe someone could post a checklist of things I should check to ensure it is working.

Hi,

is logging for ospf on Mikrotik enabled?
This helped me fixing some problems between
cisco and MT. In my case timer problems.

Strange. I enabled the OSPF logging and I can see the debug information showing that the packet addresses to 224.0.0.5 sent from the Loopback of the Mikrotik but I see nothing from the Cisco device. HMMMM.
