Where is RouterBOOT 2.7??

Thu Mar 15, 2007 7:42 pm

Hi,

Just received a batch of new RB532's. Whilst configuring one I checked to see what firmware it was running and if it could be upgraded. It said the current firmware version was 2.7 and the upgrade firmware was 2.6. Unfortunately, it's been a long day and I read it round the other way and hence I have now downgraded from 2.7 to 2.6.

After a reboot the RB532 comes up with "kernel not found" and if I try to upgrade using NetInstall it says "ERROR: could not format partitions".

I'm guessing 2.7 adds support for the new 128MB NAND but only the 2.6 is available on the routerboard website. Can anyone post the 2.7 firmware or get the routerboard site updated with the latest?

Holding down the button will boot with the 2.7 BIOS but if the RB532 gets rebooted it goes back to 2.6. The only option under "system routerboard" are for 2.6 so no way to set it permenantly there. When will 2.7 be online?

or the alternative resolution to resolve your BIOS upgrade on your Mikrotik RouterBOARD are:

-make sure from M/T RouterOS you are able to ping such as http://www.yahoo.com and getting good reply if not: pls just setting: /ip route, and setting the right gateway, /ip dns (setting the right 1st/2nd forwarder DNS server
-using WinBOX/telnet, just do: /system routerboard print, you must be on the latest upgrade firmware, if yes;
-just do: upgrade, pls select [Y]es to reboot the and upgrade your M/T RB firmware.
