User accounts suddently don't log on anymore

Sun May 06, 2007 9:01 pm

I have a couple of users on our box, created using /Tool User-Manager User.

Now suddenly when a customer tries to log on, they receive a user name or password invalid message. I tried to delete and recreate the account and the same thing happens. In fact, with the exception (fortunately) of my own account (which is a main account in the board), all the other accounts are no longer working in the user manager.

I tried to create a new main account in the board instead, using the USER form on the WinBox, and it does not work either. Now I'm completely stumped.

Any ideas?

Error

Tue May 08, 2007 10:01 am

The client is told that the user name or password is invalid. In the log I see two rows, the first showing user name (IP) trying to log in by http-pap, and hotstop info debug, the second row showed invalid user. This is strange because the user was working and logging in for some weeks already.

Provide us with exact syntax from 'log print', if you wish to get more detailed information about this problem.

For security reasons, I will not be posting the actual passwords.

I have existing users Fred.Els and Dallas.Blackett that were working for the hotspot system. Now when we attempt to log in, we receive invalid username or password. This is the same message that appears in the log file.

There is nothing special in the log file, other than the IP address which is assigned by DHCP, 10.255.254.222. I have tried logging in using this account from my PC and it also does not work. I've tried deleting and recreating the user and it does not help.

This is a summary from the print statement, deletng the =0 fields and personal details.

subscriber=JustinM name="Fred.Els" password="****" download-limit=100000000 upload-limit=30000000 last-seen=mar/22/2007 19:17:15

Several other users are also unable to log in. I suspect that this is a problem with the user-manager but have not made any changes to it since it was originally installed. The only change that was made was to reset the counters manually on the 1st. Possibly there is a problem with that?

yup...and yes two logs row appear when user invalid id.
we had little remember persist problem, we had same problem around 9 months ago, but until now our usermanager great, fast and easy to make control our user. we are sure when correct config for hotspot user profile, radius-server, and radius-client, you will solved the problem.

Have you added additional subscribers to User Manager ? Probably when you have added new subscriber, then User Manager operates with different subscribers, you have to use http://router_IP/user?subs=[Subscriber_Public_ID]
