Routing v Routing-test packages

Mon May 14, 2007 12:17 pm

Can anyone point me to documentation which explains the differences between the routing and routing-test packages. I've done a search of the MikroTik website using the key word "routing-test", only 3 hits and one of the URLs comes back non-existant when you try to connect.

Also what are the differences between the web-proxy and webproxy-test packages?

Regards

'routing-test' package provides lot of improvements and new features for routing protocols, that are not included in regular 'routing' package. It basically is a complete rewrite.

web-proxy test package is MikroTik written proxy, that provides support for caching.

sergejs,

Thanks for the response, but where is the documentation which tells me:-

1. What the new features are?
2. What are the improvements?

Without documentation I have no way to determine whether the routing-test package is of any use to me.

Should the routing-test package be considered Beta software? Is it safe for production use?

I found some strange behaviour with the test package, but without documentation I have not idea if this is the intended behavious or a bug.

I have reverted all my routers to the "old" package until I can be sure of what the test package does.

it is a completely remade routing implementation, it's hard to tell what's different if it's something else. it 'should be' faster, more reliable and have more features', and we recommend it to all customers using dynamic routing.
