SIP Supported?

Tue Jan 25, 2005 7:54 am

I don't see that MT supports SIP protocol for VoIP yet. Anybody know whether this will change with 2.9?

I am not sure this is going to answer your question, but i run a mikrotik unit with hotspot and several dedicated access points attached to it. Several of the access points have voip phones behind them and it works just fine for me on a 802.11b network 3 mile radus.

That's fine if you're just passing the IP traffic, but for connecting the calls to the PSTN with telephone cards the RouterOS needs to support SIP. In the V2.8 manual only H.323 compatibility is mentioned, but SIP is rapidly becoming the dominant format.
