Re: RouterOS v7.0 beta1 - when?

If you are an ISP, please forget about v7 for one more year. It will be in beta for a long time still
Okay, that's an announcement! You can just leave it like that...

As I've and @Normis have said - DO NOT install these releases on a production gear. These releases are experimental and beta for a reason...

Since 2013 MikroTik promises to fix bugs with v7 (recursive ipv6 nexthops etc)
It's already fixed with this script:

viewtopic.php?f=9&t=150616

😂

Hey, this is a big shit post, but interesting reading. I for one prefer stability. Yea the GUI is getting a bit dated, but you have to think of it this way. Mikrotik is such a big tool, rewriting to match something the "U" company has done is no small task. And I for one, though an OSS developer, do not care if they keep the source closed.

One thing that I'm seeing more of is Telemetry and stream in general. Does not mean I like it, but it's very popular, especially with the introduction of Micro Services, and us Network guys will just have to give in I think.

Thanks for all you guys do. It's a great product. Looking to buy more of it for my home lab!

I prefer such a "dated" GUI any time over the "modern" low-contrast borderless black-background layout that others use.
Even when selecting the white background I prefer to have borders between stuff and not those large white surfaces with grey or blue text floating in it.

THIS. I hate the "modern" flat UIs. They are awful, and quite hard to use.
