trying to install from netinstal and once the software starts, there are no packages available to select. i am using version 6.45.6. i am trying to install in a CF card. i have chosen the cf card, i pressed on install, but a message pops up that mentions "there are not any packages selected".
The problem is that i cannot see any packages available.
i am using it in a Win 7 x64bit.

Through netinstall you have to browse to the path where you packages are.
When you do that you will see them listed...

Do i have to download each package individually?

Yes. You only need the main package.

I am getting error that it cannot create MBR in disk.

The whole idea is to create a bootable CF card for an ALIX 2d13 (pcengines)

Also i have tried netinstall by PXE boot, without success.

Thanks for the reply. This is what i have followed. The problem is the error code PXE-E79.
It has failed both for PXE boot and CF install.
No idea how to proceed. Is there an image ready to download and burn it to the CF?

Netinstall image? As far as i know no.

Why dont you run netinstall from your computer?
Select your package, run your device in etherboot and thats it...

Netinstall is very fragile ... both failures might be due to some firewall on your PC preventing netinstall from doing what it has to do.

It is advisable to entirely disable firewall for the duration of use of netinstall. When using netinstall as BOOTP server, any PC's network interface other than the one used to connect Routerboard device should be disabled.

No success. I have changed ALIX board, CF cards and Windows PC. I have tried in Win 7 64bit and in Win10 64 bit, both with disabled firewall.
I have tried 2 different methods. i have 5 ALIX 2D13 boxes that i would like to engage and have them as Mikrotik routers.
Netboot Netinstall utility to PXE boot the ALIX box, gave me an error that the image is too big for the card. (PXE-error E79). I have tried with CF cards of 1/2/4GB formated as Fat, FAT32, exfat, NTFS. In all cases it failed with the same reason.
