Hello,
I am trying to get a better handle on my current bandwidth situation in my Mikrotik. I am sitting here (for a few hours now) trying to read the queuing doc in the manual. In particular I am trying to understand what the pictures are trying to show me..
I have printed out the pdf and I am viewing it so my page numbers reference the pdf, but I'm sure you can figure out where I am in the online version..
On Page 4 there is the first diagram which some what breaks down what the pictures mean:
what is Level1 and Level0?
why is priority 8 on the top and 7 on the bottom in the diagram (initial) but all the examples it's switched?
why do the colors change from the diagram? (self feed, green and blue & red and green)
do the colors mean anything? (they talk about red green and yellow, but does that reflect everytime the diagram uses red green and yellow?)
In the diagram, what does the thick black lines mean? (it goes from level1 to level0 in a branch-like way)
- then on page 5, there is a red right angle line; that goes from 3. with a priority 7 to classA (level1) to leaf1 (level0)??
then on page 6 what do those thin black lines mean?
- is leaf2 and leaf3 a child of classB?
- does classA only have one child (classB)?
page 7 what does the priority 7 and 8 mean?
page 6 talks about "Imagine the following scenario - we have three different kinds of traffic, marked by /ip firewall mangle (packet_mark1, packet_mark2 and packet_mark3) nad now have built a HTB hierarchy".. does that get used anywhere or did I miss it?
... etc..
Is there something I should have read (on the mikrotik site) prior to reading this?
And most importantly..
WHAT DOES THE CODE LOOK LIKE FOR THIS HTB EXAMPLE?
