I need to port mirror or port span traffic for our monitoring software. I've done this easily on other Mtiks, but the CCR1072 doesn't seem to have this option or I'm not finding it. I've search the forums but too many post pop up without directly proving any answers on the CCR1072.

Port mirroring works only if device has a switch chip. CCR1072 hasn't got one. There is another way which might help you, it's discussed in this thread

CCR1072 is not an switch - so no port mirroring is possible.
