CTS/RTS Threshold for Wireless interfaces

Fri Feb 04, 2005 7:50 pm

Hi!

I'd like to suggest supporting a wireless CTS/RTS threshold setting.

This is of great importance to those of us who have long distance outdoor links back to a single AP. It helps to reduce the impact of the "hidden node" problem if enabled on the client nodes which all connect to the same AP.

All of our other wireless vendor gear supports CTS/RTS but I'm trying to migrate to MikroTik units as much as possible.

MikroTik RouterOS does honor CTS/RTS requests if sent by another vendor's client, correct? There's no documentation that I can find that mentions CTS/RTS within RouterOS.

Thanks for considering this!

I can't believe, MIKROTIK don't have this option? are you sure? so how do they keep maintaining good speed at long distance? is it really design for urban area?

Features needed in MikroTik very shortly - all requested in previous posts

1. RTS/CTS

2. WPA

3. Enable the Atheros "XR" extended range feature (on:off)

Having these will make MT more competitive; conversely, without them, less so.

Regards
