Ptmp Remote help

Sun Mar 22, 2020 10:03 pm

Hi there,

I am really new to all of this I hope all the experts here can lend a hand I'd greatly appreciate it.
Recently started my own WISP in South Africa and I am slowly learning Mikrotik systems with the help of my more learned tech guys. I am looking for a solution regarding remote access and what is the best way to go about accessing client-side dishes that are connected to our tower. Something to allow us not to physically not have to be on-site to do system tweaks and bandwidth testing.

We have a mANTBox 5.8GHz 19dBi 120' Integrated Sector as a base station and our clients use MikroTik LHG 5.8GHz 27dBi AC XL PtP CPE our ground equipment is the CCR1009-7G-1C-PC
Everyone's suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Please forgive if this is in the wrong spot admin, will get up to speed with the rules asap

G

You can setup a VPN Server and then configure all your clients equipment to connect on your server.
So the answer is through VPN...

thanks for the reply but it's half of an answer.
I know the basics of a VPN but how would a VPN help me in this case. Would I set up VPN access to my client's routers and then log in to the dishes from that way around?

If you want to access a client device that is already connected on your Tower, so on your network, you dont even need a VPN...
In Case there are Client Devices anywhere else, you you should setup a VPN between you and the Client's equipment so that you can manage whatever you want... That may be the client's router that you have control of, or it may just be an antenna or a whole network of 100 devices, in that case the VPN ofcorse will be only between you and the Client's main router...
Then through that VPN you will be able to manage any of the devices behind the Client's router with the appropriate config ofcorse...

If you want me to be more specific and not give half answers provide a network diagram of a real example of what we are talking about..
