Multiple Networks accessible from each other

Tue May 12, 2020 9:42 pm

Hi Guys,

I have an idea which I'd like to implement on my home network. See my signature to know what HW I'm using.

Idea:
Multiple networks for different types of client devices.
Example:
  • network for computers,
  • network for audio-video devices,
  • network for printers,
  • network for smartphones/tablets,
  • home wireless networks (2G & 5G)
  • guest wireless network (2G)
  • etc.
Each network should have different IP range and each network should have access to all other networks, guest wireless network without access to other networks.
Most devices will have static DHCP leases, except some guest wireless devices.

Could some of you give me straightaway step-by-step instruction how to accomplish that?

Thank you in advance.

guess you're looking for somewhat of a reprint of the manuals ?
... yeah man I would ! ... but I bruised ma pötchen
.
but you could search the index for "vlan" "switching" "routing" ... then "firewall"
... and my experience ... once you've started ... you do not stop for a year !
.
best you start with only two networks (plenty of examples in the "not-yet-reprinted" manuals ... also sketches, pics and all that didactical-stuff)
...and when you're master of two networks ... it's a very little step of mastering multiple networks
... or we Lao Tze said: "let's go"
