No 5GHz on cAP ac

Sat May 16, 2020 2:44 am

Dear Mikrotik team,

Just bought your device - Access Point cAP ac, updated to latest stable version and trying to make 5G working.

I need separated 2.4/5G with 5G-AC mode and I tested at different channels/bands (5180, 5200, 5500 10,20,10/20/40 and it's combinations)

ap bridge
regulatory-domain
ukraine (also tried france, no_country_set etc)
indoor
gain 0 (for france tried 3)

Cellphone neither laptop can't see 5G

Do you have any suggestions? ASUS RT-66U is visible for all 5G-supported devices and I really want to upgrade device.

Cap AC does not support 5G. It does, if You are lucky, it supports 2,4 and 5GHz.
But either You got faulty device (welcome to the club) or You are too far from the device (5GHz = max 5m in my case), of the 5 GHz interface is disabled.

Please reset your wlan2 interface to defaults with /interface wireless reset-configuration wlan2, then change just two parameters- set country to the proper value and frequency to 5180 (due to DFS requirements, when frequency is set tot 5260 or higher you will have to wait for at least 1 minute [and for some frequencies even 10 minutes or more] until the 5G network is available). If your network does not work with such settings you will most probably have to RMA your device.

Indeed my mistake, I have to wait 5 mins. Huge plus to your karma, thanks!
