Wireless Interface disappears!

Mon Jul 02, 2007 11:15 am

Greetings all - I'm sure I've seen this on the forums before, but can't find the topis now - this past weekend we had to different sites do the same thing within hours of each other. Both these sites have been in service for nearly two years with no problems, and do not see very heavy traffic - operate around 40-50% cpu

The wireless interfaces just 'disappeared' from the list!

Site 1:
v 2.9.38
3 wlan's disappeared
reboot didn't help
Upgrading to 2.9.43 brought the wlan's back, but reset to default

Site 2:
v 2.9.42
reboot brought the missing wlan back (only one disappeared) & kept the configuration

Anyone seen this before?

I have the same problem but when de pigtail is installed in short circuit at the wlan, so the only way to get the wlan back was resetting to default.

There is an easier way with RBs, just power/poweroff lightning fast couple of times, if doesn't come up repeat process. A few times should do.

Sounds like the African Way of doing things, but if it works... I guess that'll do.

Bummer if the site is far away though....
