How to quick see LOS conditions

Mon Jul 09, 2007 2:37 pm

Hey all.

I just tried the new version of Google Earth. I am right now capable of checking LOS conditions on Google Earth by going 3D and elevate down and view in the right direction. If you have drawn a line (measured) between 2 points you are able to get a quick idea about LOS conditions. This is an awesome tool and fixed one big problem for me by telling me what was in the way and by elevating up i could see how high further one end should be. You can see the "Eye Altitude" in the right bottom corner. Of course this is not 100% because it only uses GPS heights and doesnt account for trees etc, but it's free and accurate enough for long shots.

Regards

Radio Mobile is awesome.

you can get radio mobile here:
http://www.cplus.org/rmw/english1.html

I made .ant files for a bunch of the pac wireless antenna's here:
http://www.shelbywireless.com/radiomobile/

I export my maps created with radio mobile into google earth so customers can zoom onto their locations to see if they can get service.

Give me the gps coordinates of one of your towers, tower height, what frequency you are using, what radio you use on the ap and client, what antenna you are using (model, gain), and uhmm what client antenna you normally use and I'll see if I can whip up a map like that for you..

I would rather do it myself. Just a lot of setting up in there (Radiomobile).. Have around 30 AP's with a lot of antennas on them, so there's some work to do..
