Traffic Flow on monitor port

Wed Jul 11, 2007 8:01 am

Hello,

I am hoping to use a RB150 that I just purchased to send Traffic Flow data to a NetFlow server here.

I have got this feature working ok on a bridge group on the RB150, but am having trouble with a certain configuration.

Basically I have a interface on the RB150 that is purely a listening port, the switch port this interface is connected to is setup to mirror the port on the switch here that our router is plugged into, so it sees everything that goes between our router and our lan. When enabling Traffic Flow on the interface on the RB150 that this is plugged into, no flows are detected.

Our router does not support NetFlow, and unfortunately I am unable to change it out for a different router such as a RB150, nor am I able to place the RB150 inline, so I am hoping to collect NetFlow stats using a RB150 instead by using a mirror port on the switch.

Any ideas why the Traffic Flow isn't seeing this traffic?

Traffic flow is reporting when traffic is passing router. in your config, you need traffic sniffer!
try to bride 2 ports on rb150 and see if any traffic is reported in traffic flow.
