SXTsq 5 ac ARM WIFI PROBLEM ping time out

Mon Sep 28, 2020 1:32 pm

Hi, I bought 2 pieces of SXTsq 5 ac for a p2p link at 300 meters. I have a problem with the wireless to lose 5-15 pings every hour, and since I use ospf there is a re-taking of the route. I use 802.11 protocol, I also used nstream, but there is no help. Obviously there is a factory error because before these SXTsq 5 ac I had SXT lite 5 with which I did not have problems for years. is there a solution. i sent a supout but for days no one answers me from support. I am very dissatisfied with ARM devices because I have LDF AC which has the same problem with ping dropout, while the link does not drop for days.

Re: SXTsq 5 ac ARM WIFI PROBLEM ping time out

It's a village, so I don't have a problem with congestion. It's currently 20 / 40mhz a / n / ac. data rate 300/300 stable ccq 95/95% max flow 200 / 200M tcp. ping 1ms but there is a random drop of pings at different time intervals, sometimes at 15 minutes sometimes after 24 hours. superchanel no country set is currently 5180mhz and I have the least pings when it comes to relegation, while for example at 5700mhz I have a longer break of about 30 seconds

The strangest thing is in the registration table that the link is connected for days, but I have a loss where there are problems with the client who have, for example, a video call or an application that depends on a stable connection.

the only solution i see is to buy a net box ac because these devices work perfectly. MipsBE itself is great but it's stupid to give so much money for a 300meter link

I note that I have a problem since I replaced sxt lite 5 with new sxt sq ac devices due to the increase in the capacity of the link itself over 100mbps

Don't follow your settings.
1. You are NOT using ac mode. a/n is using a or n mode, not "ac". Use "onlyAC".
2. You use superchannel because that's the only way to bypass the SXT ac characteristics and to violate legislation. The SXT ac uses "outdoor" frequencies only. Using channel 5180 outdoor is illegal in Serbia, it can only be used indoor. Transmit power should be 11dBm. (27dBm-16 dBi antenna gain)

> interface wireless info country-info serbia
ranges: 2402-2482/b,g,gn20,gn40(20dBm)
2417-2457/g-turbo(20dBm)
5170-5250/a,an20,an40,ac20,ac40,ac80,ac160,ac80+80(23dBm)/passive,indoor
5250-5330/a,an20,an40,ac20,ac40,ac80,ac160,ac80+80(20dBm)/dfs,passive,indoor
5490-5710/a,an20,an40,ac20,ac40,ac80,ac160,ac80+80(27dBm)/dfs,passive

3. Wifi is a shared medium. If ping times go up at some point in time, something else could be using the channel.
4. Your devices could generate excessive traffic at some point in time.
5. Is there anything in the log about that time?
6. Fluctuating interference or obstruction is possible. You only have 95% of CCQ, so there are already 5% retransmits even at good times.
7. Check freq-usage and snooper again. And do use DFS channels, they even have a stronger TX power (EIRP) allowed. Wait 1 full minute for the AP to start transmitting. (Channel 120-128 waits 10 minutes). At 5700 MHz your disconnect is 1 minute if it is a radar detected. So make a channels list at the "bridge" side, to make it choose another channel, avoiding the 10 minute channels.
Klembord-2.jpg
8. Use nv2. I had a problem with a tree in the fresnel zone. Unstable connections, CCQ of 95%. Hiccups about every 2 hours but random (probably depending on the wind". With nv2=100%ccq and stable connection for weeks.

I see no reasons to suspect your devices, nor that there would be any "factory error".

ARM is problem.
When i back MIPSBE a will not have any problem.
And i will never buy again ARM LDF AC OR SXT SQ AC ....
Only recomend MIPSBE for WIFI

Not my experience. Not with RouterOS 6.45.6. Good performance, stable as a rock, with correct configuration.

However, you were right, the mikrotik was repaired by ARM, here is my configuration below and I haven't had any problems with interruptions for 12 hours. I'll see if it stays that way and works stably.

Re: SXTsq 5 ac ARM WIFI PROBLEM ping time out

The problem was partially solved by changing the frequency, it is much more stable than it was but not stable enough for the OSPF to work properly, so I had to set up static routes so that the ospf would not make longer interruptions. However, I remain of the opinion that the arm is not yet up to MIPSBE
