High speed wireless link - opinions

Fri Aug 03, 2007 10:55 pm

I have just upgraded one of my backbone links from RB532 to a PC based router. It is a link over 7.4KM using R52's either side. If I run 5.8 Turbo with Nstreme, Polling and Dynamic size I get incredible results - up to 75mbps on a tcp bandwidth test. The problem is the link is very unstable - it runs for anywhere from 30 minutes to a few hours before the PC freezes up completely. If I run 5.8 standard with no nstreme the link is rock solid.

Anyone experienced similar issues? I am running a 3ghz celeron on one side and a 600mhz celeron on the other. The 600 celeron is the machine giving the issues. I have tried changing pretty much everything except the CPU, Motherboard and CF. Both routers are running 2.9.44.

You may want to look at replacing the 600Mhz board..

This thing is getting just plain old...

Age and use can have a "destabilising" affect over time..

I would try the platform at this point...

Just my two cents...
