Really transparent Proxy !

Mon Jan 15, 2007 12:13 am

It is possible to configure the Mikrotik with a really transparent Proxy, leaving to pass the IP of the customer who is behind of it?

Example: If my customer to have access the site http://www.meuip.com.br it will have to show to the real IP of the customer and not it of the Proxy Server.

How I can make this?
Somebody knows to give some example to me?

You'll have to use a dedicated squid proxy.

MT does not allow access to the squid configuration on MT, and as such you cannot change the configuration settings...

You can still use a transparent proxy by just dst-natting to the remote squid server instead of the MT's internal proxy

it is possible though to nicely combine dedicated linux squid with tproxy and still using mikrotik as bandwidth shaper...
