Did anyone made it work at such distance?
It won't even scan it at all!
Password is correct because when i have them next to each other it works/connects.

I want to remove an overcrowded 5ghz link which only does 15mbs when it used to do over 70mbs

Also make sure to set the channel to the highest frequency. This channel will slightly escape the atmospheric attenuation.

It was worth a try... if only I could achieve 20-30% of its capability at that distance I would be excited!
Does anyone know if it could improve in the near future with a software upgrade like in the past with the wap60g?
It would be great... I left the antennas on the spot waiting for something to change and hopefully use them there!

Marketing wise a photo of the LHG60 with the caldera and the volcano of Santorini in the background would be great ;)

They have been up and running for some time, and not upgraded. Versions are 6.44beta61 (1600m) and 6.46.3 (2080m).
Select highest available channel, 64800 or even better 66000 if legal in your country. (Search forum for 66000 to find CLI commands)
Originally setup with standard LHG mount, later added solidMOUNT in one end of each link. Not really needed, but easier to adjust in small steps.

I know this has gone on for sometime but I have a problem with the Wireless Wire nRAY, I wanted to use it at a distance of about 900meters clean line of sight, I had two units actually one is to be used on a link that is about 1.8KM but none of them could connect when I brought the devices down they connected but when you take them to sight they do not connect at all, and its not about the line of sight because I could see the other end with my eyes and could take a picture of my climber on the platform so am wondering if there is something that needs to be done I upgraded the software to 6.47.1 wondering if that could be the reason I really need to get those devices working and I will appreciate any help I can get to get those working

Could i ask does your Nray show degree's over 0.8 in any direction? or have i got a faulty unit????
I noticed the aiming tool is a total waste of plastic as it does not point near the correct direction

I have tried everything but nothing seems to be working.

I must say these units are very hard to align and the plastic alignment tool just forget it

In my case the antenna at the remote end is -1 degree but the antenna is tilted backwards + 2 degree which is strange, i thought it would be pointing down -1 degree like my 5ghz link does.

Ubiquiti are miles in front for distance, but they seem to have a problem with the unit's locking up on the slave side as i have read.

12km gives you about 150dB free space loss at 60GHz which is workable.
But additionally the oxygen will absorb another ~10dB minimum for every km.

So even in optimal conditions (66Ghz and no rain) one would have to overcome more than 250dB of loss.

Even with the maximum antenna gain and transmit power allowed in the USA one would only get -150dBm at the receiver.

Long story short: I do not believe Ubiquiti can actually achieve 12Km at 60Ghz. Most likely they just Fall back to 5GHz.

Ok, i'm pretty sure i have found the error in my assumption:

I assumed the 12km would be achievable within the license free band.
But the AirFiber allows operation outside of that.
So yes 20 km are definitely possible at 70Ghz where the Oxygen absorption is negligible.

so will the lhg60 ever reach 5-10km with a software update or is it limited by free bands?

If you look at the TX/RX module it will do horizontal and vertical polarization but i think they are only using vertical???

I have an airfiber 60 long range and it works for me at 8.3km I took it for a test. Will the mikrotik do something similar to wait and will it be competitive with the price because I have an air fiber60lr set for 900 euros in Serbia

I tested an AF60 LR 4.7km link with -57 signal (not fully optimized) and have two LHG60 links 1.6 and 2.1km with also -57 to -58 signal in production.
We had some rain, not really heavy. And the 4.7km 69GHz went down, while the shorter LHG links at 64.8GHz were not noticably affected.
Logically a longer link is more subject to rain lowering the signal. On the other hand 69 should be better off than 64.8. But with all starting at -57, the longer link failed and not the shorter. Maybe with a fully optimized 4.7km link and full power I would get -48 to start with, that would help some. Still 3x distance give 3x rain fade.
I think the impressive long ranges achieved in sunshine with the AF60 will be greatly reduced in practical use due to rain fade and legal restrictions. Even when 69-70Ghz is available. But if AF LR is say 99.8% stable at perhaps 3km (?) that is also a big advantage over 1.5 - 2km if 3km is what you need. Anyway there should be a 5GHz backup, either a parallell link or a ring structure.

any other recommendations to manage to link my 2 lhg60 mounted and waiting at 2150m distance? Would a future software update help, like in the past that on some versions the distance doubled?

I haven't tried to modify some sector something values that I read here and there as they didn't make that much sense to me

no... I never managed to ever scan the other side not even for 1 second so either it is misconfigured or very badly positioned

I would first get them together and see if they connect together.

At 60ghz the beam is very very narrow so a good aim is required and the default mount may be ok for short links but no good for that distance.

well this is the first thing I did of course.... I configured them tested them and then started climbing.
But of course after many failed attempts I reset them and reconfigured them but I don't think that I have an error.
I should I least see it when I scan ... like I can see another one (also mine which is nearby)

on the same poles I have underneath sxts at 5ghz running for 4 years non stop but of course the reach further and need less aiming
