RB133 Hardware I/O lines available under ROS

Tue Sep 11, 2007 2:55 am

Hi All,

Are there any ( as in any anywhere on PCB ) hardware lines available on PCB which can be controlled from ROS e.g. discrete bit I/O, SPI, I2C etc .

I am looking at using the RB133 to reboot some attached equipment on the network when it goes wheels up ( Windows... gotta a love it...).

Failing this I will have to add a serial port widget. The latter will only work on some sites as at others the serial port is already in use for the PPP link & so would require yet another Black box dangling off the network.

Cheers

Don

Do you have acces to thiese ?
I thought the chipset controled thiese? (if controlled at all)

I know on the newer boards thiese supplied the same voltage as was comming in on the power input jack (the 133 may be regulated i cant remember) so if you can manipulate it via the 3.X API then double check the voltage comming from the connector and dont pull too much current from it IE i would not dirrect drive a relay from it...

This is one for Normis and the boys....

User LED and Beeper can be controlled as well. And you can trace the high voltage fan signal to the controller, which receives a smaller voltage, not the input power...
