cannot winbox after install hotspot

Thu Mar 03, 2005 4:27 pm

dear all,

i'm trying mikrotik 2.8.24, i do almost all the setup via winbox.
everything is okay until i enable the hotspot.

after i enable the hotspot, i cannot winbox into mikrotik anymore.

i've trying using port 80 or 8088, still cannot.

the error message is:
cannot fetch /winbox from 192.168.0.188 (port 8088): Not Found

i've tried reinstall the mikrotik 2.8.24 from scratch (24 hour free version), and still get the same problem. winbox is fine until install the hotspot.

anybody pls help me.

thx.

The HotSpot needs to operate on port 80, which is normally used by WinBox to check the RouterOS version and download plugins. The HotSpot setup changes this port to another one, which you look up under "/ip service print" (see service "www"). Enter this in your WinBox after the address (separated by a colon, like "192.168.1.1:8000"), and you should be set...

/ip service print
0 telnet 23 0.0.0.0/0
...
3 www 8088 0.0.0.0/0
4 hotspot 80 0.0.0.0/0

i've tried to winbox to port 80 or 8088, still doesn't work.

i can't telnet to the mikrotik too.

but i can browsing dan login into the hotspot system.

thx.

Can you elaborate this? I have similar problem althrough I do not use hotspot but simply MT maps incoming port 80 to server which is onto internal network. After activating map winbox cannot work accessing Mt at the same IP. I have to use the same IP for WinBox but cannot find way to change port WinBox uses.

Is there an specific way to change port on which MT accepts WinBox connections?

Firewall rules?
Routing problem?
no special setting at firewall or routing, i just activate the ip masquerade.

there are changes made by hotspot.

it supposed to show us the winbox download screen when we browse to port www/8088, right?

but when i browse to http://192.168.0.188:80 or :8088, itu shows up the hotspot login screen. i do the login, and it just show the connection screen, the orange one.

it think hotspot think that i'm going to browse an external page, and ask me for the login.

i've tried the walled garden, filled it with
http://192.168.0.188
192.168.0.188
127.0.0.1

and it still doesn't work.

any idea?

no one get this problem before?

thx.

thanks all, problem solved.

before installing the hotspot, i mangle my computer ip address with flow mark 'fr-pc-ho'.
so i can choose my computer to internet (i have 2 gateway to internet).

/ ip firewall mangle
add src-address=192.168.0.18/32 dst-address=0.0.0.0/0 action=accept \
mark-flow=fr-pc-ho comment="" disabled=no

when install the hotspot, the hotspot add several mangle on top of this one.

i change my mangle to:

/ ip firewall mangle
add src-address=192.168.0.18/32 dst-address=!192.168.0.188/32 action=accept \
mark-flow=fr-pc-ho comment="" disabled=no

and everything is okay.

i can winbox and telnet now.

thx a lot.
