Configuring IPv6 in IPv4 network

Wed Sep 29, 2021 4:58 pm

As stated in the topic, I have an IPv4 internet connection(WAN) and want to give internet to an IPv6-only device on my LAN. Please how do I configure this on a 951Ui routerboard. I am new to Mikrotik OS. Thanks

In theory you should be able to get it done by following this manual: https://wiki.mikrotik.com/wiki/Manual:I ... 29_tunnels

I can't say whether it really works as my ISP offers both IPv4 and IPv6 ...

Thanks for the response. The documentation referred is quite a bit technical. The IP my router is getting is a private IP from another router. I don't know how that gonna work

It is going to be technical no matter what.
Your easiest solution will likely be to get IPv6 on your internet connection first.
Find out why it is only IPv4. E.g. ask the ISP. Tell them it is 2021. Don't accept "nobody ever asks for IPv6" answers.
