RB133 + R52 = Access Point.. How?

Sun Sep 23, 2007 3:11 pm

Having RB133 with 1 wlan (R52) connected via cable to 3com adsl modem

How can I configure the 133 to work as an AP for the modem?

I did these settings (dns, dhcp server/client, hotspot, users, wlan mode= ap bridge)

I can connect to it wirelessly but no internet access

also, how can I assign an IP for the rb133? it has no one so far (0.0.0.0), it's new

IP of ether1 assigned dynamically by the modem
wlan1 does dhcp for wireless clients
default route 0.0.0.0/0 to ISPs gateway address

Thank you very much

All done perfectly, IP assigned by the modem and internet connection is fine :D
The modem gives IPs for clients.. not the wlan1
This is a video on how to configure the mikrotik router as an AP for 3com modem made by one of our guys:

http://www.4shared.com/file/23082027/14 ... d=416b6aad

But no hotspots enabled, When enabling the hotspot on wlan1>> nothing happens! no loging page for users!
Do I need to make the modem IP in the same form as the RB133>> 10.5.50.? Because it is now 192.168.1.1 and the ether1 is 192.168.1.102 given by modem

Thanks again

Done without bridging wlan1 & ether1

the IP doesn't have to be in the same range.
