7.1rc4 and non-functional dhcp on vlan

Mon Oct 25, 2021 10:41 am

Hi folks,

I'd like to have a few vlans on hAP AC³ with 7.1rc4 (wifiwave2 is a requirement in my case), but hit an issue with a non-working dhcp server on vlan. Wireless clients send dhcp requests, but sniffer shows no response from the dhcp server. Ethernet clients continue working just fine.

WAN: ether1
mgmt bridge: ether2 and wifi4 (172.16.0.0/24)
main bridge: ether[345], wifi[123] (192.168.0.0/24, vlan20)

I started with a single vlan 20 on the main bridge and ran dhcp server on this vlan. I checked the firewall rules, they don't drop any internal traffic. Please see my pretty basic configuration below. Thanks.

Re: 7.1rc4 and non-functional dhcp on vlan

Tue Oct 26, 2021 11:10 am

I tested same configuration, but on stable version 6.49 with the old wifi stack. DHCP server on vlan20 worked fine, though the old wifi stack showed poor performance (tens mbit/s within 3 feet vs. half of gigabit with wifiwave2 within 50 feet which was the reason of upgrading to the development version). I also tested routeros 7.1rc4 with the old wireless stack, it works as well. It seems like wifiwave2 causes the issue.
