I'm trying to set up a new RB5009 to replace a hEX S. It comes out of the box with RouterOS 7.0.5 *stable* - presumably a special spin for this router.
However - it's not clear on the download page how to get the extra packages (in particular Dude and ntp) that I need:
- '/system resource print' says it's an ARM64 architecture, but the ARM64 download area only lists "nRAY, CCR2004, LHGGR" as compatible routers
- I'd rather not go to 7.1rc5, as it's not stable, and in any case doesn't come with a Dude package.
- https://mikrotik.com/product/rb5009ug_s ... -downloads lists the current release as 6.49 which suggests a downgrade will probably work, but it seems a bit odd to downgrade from the shipped RouterOS which is presumably there for a reason. Would everything definitely work OK?
- I'm reluctant to experiment with up/downgrading given the 7.0.5stable packages do not seem to be downloadable in case I want to go back to it.
Also, what's the situation with security updates for this release - how will that work?
