So what is the status? Is there any reply from official Mikrotik support? A "no" would be still very very much appreciated because it is an answer, instead of a "don't know".

The SIP telephones that we sell do not support wireguard. It would be nice if I could use Mikrotik across the board for my customers.

No, seriously, there's absolutely NO reason to use OpenVPN on a MikroTik.
There's no space on 16MB devices to use the fully featured official OpenVPN implementation.
And to add more features to the implementation done by MikroTik ain't worth the devs time.
Use it as it is if you have a usecase for it, if not, use another VPN solution that has more features and is better supported.

Wireguard will become widely used very rapidly.
