Here's a challenge

Fri Oct 26, 2007 2:11 am

Hi guys,

I would like a ROS V3 script that is capable of doing a wireless scan on a particular interface for a given period of time, end the scan and put the result to a file.. This is needed because of some WDS links we have running have no ethernet and doing a scan on the same interface disconnects us, but i really need to know what this particular AP can see..

Regards

Henrik

You could connect another radio with an omni (or sectored) to monitor with.

You could leave this on all the time if you wanted to...

This is an omni (repeater site) that serves a few clients. Normally everything is connected via a 5GHz backhaul but this.

not possible at the moment. it would be nice if a interval= or 'once' specifier could be added. As well as file= to output the results.

What hardware are you using?
I am looking for open slots..

I was thinking that if you could ADD and additional miniPCI radio (or similar) you couls hang a small omni to sniff the air with (constatly if you wished) some ISPs do this at the NOC and other key sites to see if other radios show ut that may force them to change freq. or make other adjustments.
