My opinion: to have information of new version

Fri Mar 11, 2005 2:14 am

I suggest to support of Mikrotik, that with each new version, offers the information of the differences the previous version.

Of this form, the user decides if make the upgrade.

What think you?

Isn't this already in the change log? Or are you talking about the jump from the 2.8 to 2.9?

It would be nice to see more detailed info in the change logs however. Some of the fixes are rather cryptic, and rarely does MT respond to requests for clarification.

The changelog it is not sufficiently clear. For example that is "improved wireless AP beacon handling" for the new 2.8.26 version?

It's also very well documented, most of the problems people have with mikrotik are because they don't understand the technology that they're implementing.

Also the guy that wrote that doesn't seem to know how to use the software because you don't have to use native wireless interfaces on a MT hotspot.. you can use whatever externel AP you want... I know, I've done it before...

not to mention that this article was written in 2003 about earlier releases of RouterOS (2.7.xx)

Documentation Examples of specific applications

Sat Mar 19, 2005 11:26 pm

Documentation on each specific application would be nice!

RE:

HotSpot
Wireless Access Point
Wireless Access Point with VAP

VLAN router with Roterboard 44 (4 port ethernet adapter)

I read about features and spend a lot of time creating the scenario.

It would be nice if there was a place we could share the specific applications. Is there such a place?

It would also be helpful if the applications could be seperated by OS versions.

Just my opinion.
