It was hard to find!!!

Lets see.......
(a) I went to google and typed in IP Cloud Mikrotik

(b) The first entry that comes up...............
https://wiki.mikrotik.com/wiki/Manual:IP/Cloud

(c) I see a ddns example near the top with the format prescribed......

(d) Below that there is a note.................... name stored permanently............ is your first clue!

(e) Going down to properties I see the entry: dns-name (read-only: name)
Hmmm another clue, one cannot change the name.

(f) Then in the text for dns name: Shows DNS name assigned to the rdevice. Name consists of 12 character serial number appended by .sn.mynetname.net. This field is visible only after at least one ddns-request is successfully completed.
and yes, MT devices normally have a 12 character serial number.

Just to make sure I checked one of my devices and strangely enough, the serial number of the router was the first part of my IP cloud name..............

Certainly, that's the first thing i don, but i need to be sure about it. I admit i did not pay attention at this part about "assigned to the device" but even this way, was not clear for me if the addres will not change even after a reboot.
Anyway.... thanks for your time.

Not obvious: if you change the RouterBOARD, it is not possible to keep that serial number,
whether you still own the RouterBOARD or not, it is not possible to migrate the name!!!

(but is possible keeping update the DDNS leaving the board powered as a client, until the board works)

hey rextended,
1. few of us play musical routerboards
2. even less of us take our routers apart from the chassis and expose the routerboard assuming I think I know what you mean by routerboard :-)

Is simple, RouterBOARD is the generic name of all Mikrotik product that can run RouterOS...
other products like SwOS-only swithces, woobm, only-powerline, etc. do not are RouterBOARD(s)

For example the RouterBOARD "hEX S" is the commercial name of the RB760iGS
and that mean: RouterBOARD 7 [series] - 6 [ethernet] - 0 [wireless] - i [500mW passive PoE] - G [gigabit] - S [1 SFP not plus]

Why, because it is my nature!
When do Spaniards or Brits ever agree with Italians :-)

I take that as a capitulation, no hanging required, ;-) Too soon? Its been about 28,212 days.

(any fool can buy an URL, and after learning about VRF shortcomings with firewall rules and the like, I know there are fools at the place that makes these units)

Not being a fan of that side, nor of the other side, it is obvious that that date does not tell me anything.
Although now I understand what you mean...
