ppp client issue

Fri Nov 30, 2007 2:19 am

I have an wavecom gprs modem, and I made a configuration with ppp client in MK 115200, 8,1 hfc.

The link authenticate , goes up, assign ip to ppp interface and assign the default route, but... No internet, no pings to any site, all the connections going for default route are UNREPLIED.

I did the same configuration in a fedora linux box , and all is working perfect, and I can ping, surf, etc.

I am thinking is an issue with the mikrotik ppp client. anyone has or had this problem?

Hi,

I have a very similar problem, except, we have our own APN at the cellular provider that we make use of, making it possible for us to use our own RADIUS server, assign IP's etc. Using this APN setup from a windows/linux pc works fine. (ie. RADIUS dishes out client IP and gateway against the username).

The problem on the MikroTik is that it does not seem to get the right gateway when setting up a ppp-client. I have tried different gprs modems but with no luck. (Wavecom, HAUWEI Data cards etc). It gets the right IP for the ppp interface but not the right gateway? The problem with this is that using this APN makes it possible for us to access our office network, but obviously we can't cause the MikroTik is getting the wrong gateway.

Agree.
The main point is that I checked the gateway and is exactly the same default route when I did with linux box or Mikrotik. It is a very rare problem
