AP-CONFIG---HELP

Fri Mar 25, 2005 6:35 pm

Hi,

I still can input my license key.Let me tell you about my setup.may be there is something wrong.

I have server and its sharing(internet-IP 192.168.0.1).I downloader the router OS and runing on a dedicated pc with 2 network cards, the IP's-ether1 10.1.0.1
ether2 192.168.0.60

Now I can use Winbox to access the dedicated pc with the IP 192.168.0.60.

my problem is:

1.when I input my license,it tells me "could not change the key-invalid key"

2. am trying to setup AP(access point) but it tells me thet is no wireless interface

3.my ISP's gateway is a privite Ip and when I config,it says unknown

4.how do I config,am using(2.4 intergated Access point + a backbone(rb/om19)

Best Reguards

first of all. if you dont have a wireless card in the MT it cannot setup AP..

2nd - what are the specific ip addresses you need on the MT

you stated nic 1 and nic 2 main ip address. what is your ISP ip address that you are trying to connect to . this is the reason for the UNKNOW interface you stated. it does not know where the ip address you are adding needs to go . ie what interface it should goto

So, did ISP gave you IP address to setup?
Which one they gave you 192.168.0.x or 172.19.198.x?
Also, I have witnessed that some older motherboards doesn't see wireless interfaces!
Some can see few cards and some not even one!
Anyhow, if you installed MT on another hard disk then the one you reported to MT your license key will not be valid...

Cheers...

License is bound to harddrive/flashcard. support@mikrotik.com should help you regarding a license issue.
