users lost in export file

Fri Sep 18, 2015 11:27 pm

Hello,
I'm on RB951 ui2hnd with ROS 6.32.1

Performing the command:
> export compact file=globalconfig

I should find everything in that file.
But users are missing! And also the default groups: full, read, write are missing.
There's only a new group with his own skin.
Any idea?
Thank you very much.

To my knowledge, Users and groups are not exported in the plaintext file exports.

If you want to export them to an identical RB Model with the same ROS version, you can use
/system backup save
These can be encrypted or not, but they are not human-readable and can't be moved between Routerboard models or ROS versions.

Thank you, Lordkappa
in my experience the backup file is usable only in the same router where is generated, because it contains MAC addresses of that specific device.
To clone configuration from a router to another (same model, same ROS), I know only export / import system.
Any other solution?
Thank you

Did you found any solution to this? So far the only thing I could found whas that with
/user export
you get the list of the users in the system, but still no passwords (and no hash of the passwords)
