hi.
ive been experiencing problems with my omnitik for last couple of weeks. im using it for live sound mixing and its plugged into digital mixing console. so no hardcore rules, just plain AP with 1st port switched instead of gateway. few weeks back i started to notice wifi connection drops, after drop i had to restart router to be able to connect to it again. right now it reboots immediately after anything tries to connect to wifi. signal also disappears suddenly and then shows suddenly. and i have autosupout in files.
have anyone experienced anything like that?

Please use netinstall ro reinstall this device to the latest RouterOS version:
http://wiki.mikrotik.com/wiki/Manual:Netinstall
Also upgrade BIOS:
/system routerboard upgrade
If the problem continiues, send supout file to mikrotik support:
http://www.mikrotik.com/support.html
So we could see if the problem is related to hardware or software.

I was unable to boot it in netinstall, none of methods i found online yields any results. Its always boots as usual. This morning i noticed that it started to make some noise, something simillar to 2.5inch disk drive. As soon as there are some net activity, sound is getting more noticable. I havent heard this before, maybe i wasnt paying attention.

I have noticed such noise from omnitik when transmitting data over wifi so the device drained more electricity power. May happen that some capacitor is going to die and this is the way it expresses itself.

Nowadays many devices with electronic high frequency DC-DC converters/transformers are generating noise/screech.

I had the exact same problem that u had with the same device .. and I got rid of it .. I think it's sad that mikrotik produced such a device comparing to all great products that they made.
I really hope that they stop making it.
