Utility for automated HotSpot login ready for testing...

I finally have found the time to code up a little utility. Its' purpose is to enable someone to log on to a MikroTik RouterOS based HotSpot without having to open a browser and enter their credentials there. There was some demand for such a utility in the forum (swanto and others), so I promised to hack together something - here you are. It's still a preview version - for the RouterOS community to test and comment on.

You can download it from http://cmit.de/downloads/hotspot-logintool.zip (197 kB). It's small (200 kB) and doesn't need any installation. Please check the ReadMe.txt inside the zip file.

Feedback is warmly welcome, more about that (and where to send your feedback to) is in the ReadMe.txt, too.

All the good stuff goes in Windows? What about MacOSX and Linux? Their popularity is constantly increasing...

Slow, man :) Perhaps something for Linux will follow. Regarding MacOS - I've never done anything for MacOS, so I suppose that won't happen...
The request was for Windows, if I remember correctly. And I was sitting in front of a Windows box when "it came to me" :D

i try it , if it has a bug , i will report !!!

Did you have a chance to play with it? Any bugs or problems?

hostpot login program

hi,

I had tried your little login program and found a few problem and also make a request.

After login - Request Status

Problem :

a)Unable to get status after login as the HotSpot address is still the mikrotik temp address 172.16.0.1 and that’s why an error prompting “couldn’t connect to hotspot server”
b)I had also tried changing the hotspot address to 10.5.48.1. But this time, there is no respond. I still do not see the status of the connection.

Log off

Problem :

a) User that did not change Hotspot Address to the real ip would get the wrong idea that they already logoff when in fact, they are still connected. The IP by DHCP did not reset.
b) User have to manually change the HotSpot server address to mikrotik local real address 10.5.48.1 to log off. Then only the IP by DHCP would be reset.

Request
1. A remember password function both in this little program and the hotspot login page and some documentation howto customized it.[/img]

Hello

Is it possible to create navigation groups for users using active directory and a radius hotspot? I need to segregate the browsing by user groups, I already created a hotspot in the mikrotik and this validates with users of a domain by active directory. Now, I need the users to have different access to certain pages. Is it possible to do this segregation?
