Im lost now, how to see my IP ????

Wed Oct 07, 2015 10:32 am

I just took my delivery of 155Mbps from my service provider.
They have given one /30 WAN IP.
And I had given them my AS Number and /24 and /24 two blocks to advertise.

Now, they said, the advertisement is done already.

But when I set a PC to my IP, it shows no internet.

I think, something is missing!

I called them and they said, your IP is not done as static routing, thats why directly placing the IP wont work.

So, you have to do BGP routing inside your router.
Only after that, your IP you would be able to see in the internet.
So, what to do now ?

Im kind of lost and dont know, whats next!!!

Can someone please help ?

Showing no Internet could be due to default route lack or missing dns server. Check it.

Showing no Internet could be due to default route lack or missing dns server. Check it.
Now IP resolves and works.

Only speed test is showing my name as UNKNOWN.
I guess it takes time.

To find your computer's IP address

Open Network Connections by clicking the Start button Picture of the Start button, and then clicking Control Panel. In the search box, type adapter, and then, under Network and Sharing Center, click View network connections.

Select an active network connection, and then, in the toolbar, click View status of this connection. (You might need to click the chevron Picture of the chevron icon to find this command.)
Click Details.

Your computer's IP address appears in the Value column, next to IPv4 Address.
