Block url without proxy

Dear All,

i have to block some url without using a proxy,
how does it works with mikrotik? (firewall rules?/ NAT?)

ou should take into account that a lot of connections will significantly increase memory and CPU usage

It is very hard problem to solve ... look for "How to block facebook " threads.
When WWW page uses more than one IP then there is no other option as L7 filtering.
You can make script which periodically seeks all addresses used by particular url/domain and then block traffic to this IP list but it is just substitute.
This page helps to find all IP4 used by big companies: bgp.he.net

Or if you use your router as a dns server add a static entry and point it to somewhere
