in my country LTE currently operates on band 4 and 7, the worst data service provider (CLARO) operates on band 7 and Tigo (Une-EPM) but the later dont have full nationwide coverage on band 7

please add support to band 4

this product is ideal for a various scenario link ipcam, weather station, industrial control... alarm etcc...

It's the best idea I've seen in recent products from many network vendors.
I personally like to see band 1 at least. It'll be nice to also see 20 & 38.

SXT with 3G support would be great solution for many peoples in UA. Trust me)

Some people use old ADSL for access to internet. Especially in private sector, because dont have alternative solution. Classic USB-modem can't give good speed Downlink/Uplink. Additionally, most often, you need to "hand made" or "modding".

Besides USB-modem, you need router with USB-port. SXT 3G can be solution "all in one", simple plug and play.

Simply think over it.

3G market in UA develops in a geometrical progression. And is still clean, with no solution for home use.

We are working on other products that you will like. This one is for a specific market and is not advertised as a solution for everyone.

In Estonia 3 and 7 are used for dense population areas. Recently Tele2 also added band 1 (2100).
In rural areas (even just outside Tallinn!) band 20(800) is most popular. For example 10-15km from Tallinn centre Tele2 and Elisa often only have band 20 in use.
So I cannot use SXT LTE here. Very little use in cities due to strong LTE signal. No use outside cities because band mismatch.

@Karvanoppa, I had the same problem. Do you use default-configuration script? If so, try to reset configuration and configure SXT LTE manually. Eventually use stable version 6.32.3. After reset mine is working fine till 3,5 day... and counting There are some bugs in default-configuration script in v6.33.3, v6.33.5, v6.34rc36. Nope, Sprint uses 25, 26 and 41 FDD in USA while RBSXT LTE is 3 & 7 FDD only.

You should definitely support SMS & USSD - most of the pre-paid data plans require it.

Can these SXT LTE's work 1 on 1 as a transparent ethernet bridge (1x AP-bridge, other in station-bridge)?
Can they just work without a providers' sim in it?

Might be an idea to create small wireless bridge in a frequency nobody uses here and stay out of the crowded wifi spectrum?

I ordered one of these but will only arrive next week so I'll guess can find out how they work myself.

Did you try it? Why not? Does this has to do with the protocol? Or radio simply can't work in AP mode? Or simm is needed to get connected to AP and without simm radio is not working?

First of all GSM uses reserved frequencies all over the world - you can't just randomly throw equipment transmitting on these. Before you point me to the transmitter in cellphone you should read about TDMA.
In WiFi world clients equipment is fairly similar (except for antennas) to one used on the ISP side. In GSM situation is a lot more complicated - BTSes are hugely complicated and specialized equipment while endpoints like our phones are dare simple transceivers.

Speaking about the SIMcard - it's not required for network communication, it's only used authentication & authorization. Theoretically you could configure BTS to work without them, since in some (most?) countries you could actually dial 911/112 without SIM present. I believe that in USA FCC requires every device, capable of making voice calls, to be able to connect you to 911.


So no, you can't use RBSXT LTE as PtP system.

i think is normal, network assign you a valid address automatically, then you have to nat all your traffic using that address

i've noticed that sometimes there's graphing data missing after restarts or power cuts. nothing like that is happening with other devices.

Hi, I'm quite a newbie with Mikrotik. Little intimidated.

I got a SXT LTE working but I'm getting crappy speed (1 - 2 Mbps). I actually get better results with the cheap router that the ISP provided with a weaker signal.

I'm really not sure where to start to make my speed better. I have full bars on the STX LTE router.

Where should I start?

The more band you add, the higher the licensing will be for the devices, which have to be reflected in the price as well. We all know that.
However, missing widely accepted and used bands, will have a huge impact on the number of users, whom could use the device. And such limitation will be reflected on the sales volumes as well.

For example, the SXT LTE is quite useless in Hungary. This device is a great, when you have an area, where you've got no wired / very limited internet at all. You point this device to the nearest tower (which may be 5-10 kilometers away), and you've got your internet, just as mentioned by Mikrotik itself.
However, in these areas B20 is used in Hungary. The frequencies which are supported in SXT LTE are only used in high density, urban areas. But there you won't need a high sensitive SXT type device, to reach the nearest LTE transmitter.

I'm waiting for the wAP LTE, which was presented during last year at the MUM in Hungary. This device would perfectly fit in urban areas as well, event without B20 (but it would be nicer with B20, of course)

Well, why not sell the LTE modules separately? That would definitely solve the problems regarding regional needs and what bands that are available...

SXT LTE at a temperature of -20 degrees Celsius does not start LTE interface. Maybe someone found a solution?

Hi ... I have a SXT LTE and in a certain mobile operator here in Brazil, the equipment does not connect. We already made sure that it operates LTE in band 7, so the equipment is compatible. However, for the internet to work, it is necessary that the connection is roaming and I can not find a way to activate roaming.

Could someone give some hint or solution?

PS: We have tested chips from other operators and the equipment works perfectly.
