Outside clients appear as 192.168.1.1

Thu Dec 10, 2015 10:06 pm

Hello everyone.
I'm pretty much a noob in networking, and I recently got a Mikrotik Routerboard Lite hAP, because I wanted some QoS control and a friend gave me big help with setting it up. Everything is working fine, but I have this trivial issue I'd like to solve. I have a FileZilla server, and everyone that connects appear as 192.168.1.1.. it didn't do that with a ZTE router I had before as a router. What could make that happen, and is it possible that FileZilla receives a true IP address?
Thank you in advance.

SOLVED: Masquerade was set for everything by default in the bottom of the NAT.. I checked the Out Interface to ether1 in General options for it.. I didn't know the full meaning until now.

Nothing guys??
I mean I don't know if this question is somewhat stupid.. but I'd like to at least hear from you that this is normal and usual.. All clients appear as 192.168.1.1.. and that should not confuse a server?

I tried some stuff and it worked.. I'm not sure what fixed it but I set use-ip-firewall to yes at /interface bridge settings, and I edited the default NAT configuration of masquerade, to have a out. interface option set to ether1-gateway

Nice job solving the problem.

I think the best way to learn things about networking and RouterOS is to struggle at first.
