brand new Hex rb750gr2, DOA ?

Sat Feb 20, 2016 8:09 pm

Hello,

i just got a brand new hex in the mail.

If i understand the 'quick setup' and everything in the forums I read, the following should be working out of the box:
* dhcp-client running on ether1 (acting as default route)
* dhcp-server running on ether2-5 (pool: 192.168.88.0/24)
* webfig reachable on 192.168.88.1

neither of this seems to be working, as i can't see any dhcp-offers on ether2-5 or dhcp-requests on ether1.

is this device DOA? how could i find out if it is?

thanks in advance

Use Winbox neighbor discovery when connected to any of the ether ports, otherwise try to use NetInstall to reinstall the device.

As i am running linux and macos, I've tried winbox4mac (wine). neighbor discovery didn't show the device. i couldn't find any netinstall-wine package, and didn't find the time to set that up myself yet.

Any other ideas, or should i return the device ?

just used a windows machine to run winbox.
neighbor-discovery found the device.
on winbox4mac i could use the mac-address found via windows to connect to the device.

so only the discovery doesn't seem to work in winbox4mac. connection and configuration seems to work.

thanks for you help.
