PPPoE Terminating peer not responding

Hi All,

Having the following error in the subject line happen at least 10 times or more a day!

I Previously had a 750G but just upgraded to a RB2011. I copied all of my settings over by hand to make sure everything was correct and the same from the 750 over to the 2011 board.

My broadband provider is BT in the UK, I have ethernet 1 connected to the ADSL modem and have setup PPPoE client in the mikrotik to dial out.

This setup worked perfectly on the 750 and never had any issues. Since having the 2011 in place and using the same setup I've been getting the above error at least 10 times a day where the internet will drop out because of it for maybe 2/3 min till it comes back up. If it lasts longer than that I disable the PPPoE interface and re enable and it comes back up.

Ive tried playing around with MTU but makes no difference, its set to what BT recommend and also what BT set it to if you use their Home hub router.

Can anyone assist? If you need any particular configs ill be happy to post...

I've also noticed before it happens in the logs a set of IP addresses in DHCP assign and deassign constantly. A different IP each time.

Most of my decives in my network have been statically assigned from the mikrotik and have 8 day leases. The devices in this screenshot still have 6 days to go on their lease so why are they assigning and deassigning constantly?

Could that be to do with the PPPoE issue?

Can anyone help.....................................

Another thing I just though of is,

The modem is going into ether1 which is the "poe in" port for the mikrotik should I want to power it via POE instead of the power brick..

Would this cause an issue?

Thanks,

Im already running the latest version....

My timeout is currently 60 which I had on my 750g mikrotik with no issues.

Is a lower time better then? Ill try 10.
