Thu May 19, 2016 5:09 pm

hey guys
how many users can use a 8 MB speed line without disturbing??
cuz i have a network with a 12 Antennas and an average of 30 to 40 users are using it
so i add 4 Antennas and i was wondering if there is extra users using my network wont effect the others users speed a lot ?

Is it a symmetrical 8 Mbps?

If not then 1 or 2 apple/android devices uploading their backups will kill the connection.

But in the interest of being more helpful...

The best thing you could do is to configure a PCC queue for your network, which will fairly divide the available bandwidth between the number of active connections. So if two users are active, each would get ~4Mbps, and if 8 were active, then they would all receive ~1Mbps...

Read the Wiki articles about PCC queueing for more information.

Pcq-upload does not work well when apple devices starts to backup!!! I mean when a user starts to fully upload.

It works better if you also set a rate limit in pcq queue (eventually bursted) at a reasonable fraction of full upload speed (also true for download ..but, in my experience, avoidable in high asymmetric lines .. 8/1, 20/3 ..).
